About benaGene: Oxaloacetate Supplement
Oxaloacetate Benefits Discovered
Fifteen years after Dr. Hans Krebs earned the Nobel Prize for his discovery of the Krebs Cycle, the system our cells’ mitochondria use to create energy, he published another groundbreaking study. It suggested a ketone called oxaloacetate could dramatically impact cellular energy production and the ratio of NAD+ to NADH.
With significant implications for human health, scientists clamored to research oxaloacetate supplementation further, but quickly hit a roadblock – oxaloacetate quickly degraded if not stored in temperatures below -30 degrees celsius, making it too unreliable for study.
In 2005, Terra Biological engineered and patented a method to thermally stabilize oxaloacetate with Vitamin C. Working with researchers at UCSD, UCLA, and UC Riverside, we found that we were able to stimulate the same molecular pathways as calorie restriction with oxaloacetate – without actually reducing calorie intake. This discovery led to the creation of benaGene.
About benaGene
-
benaGene is the world’s first oxaloacetate supplement available in a shelf-stable, bioavailable capsule. Since its creation, benaGene has made possible dozens of human and animal studies investigating the potential of an oxaloacetate supplement.
-
Currently, our unique formula holds over 30 patents and is sold all over the world (although we are still waiting for our first order from Antarctica).
What is Oxaloacetate?
To understand the power of benaGene, you first need to understand the importance of oxaloacetate. Oxaloacetate is a naturally-occurring compound needed by every human cell to produce energy in the Krebs Cycle.
The body already has oxaloacetate inside its cells. In fact, you need a certain amount of it just to stay alive — children born with an inability to produce oxaloacetate die early in childhood.
Proper levels of oxaloacetate are crucial for healthy metabolism, glucose system support, and overall cellular function.
benaGene Founder Alan Cash
In 2005 following a life-threatening disease, physicist entrepreneur Alan Cash sold his INC 500 company and decided to devote his life and personal funds to researching aging and wellness.
Scouring the scientific journals Cash uncovered research in the Krebs cycle that suggested a ketone, “oxaloacetate”, could dramatically impact cellular energy production and increase the NAD+ / NADH ratio to favorably modify metabolism.
With significant implications for human health, Cash and his team clamored to research oxaloacetate supplementation further but hit a roadblock. Oxaloacetate quickly degraded if not stored in extremely low temperatures, making it too unreliable for study.
Cash established Terra Biological LLC and he engineered and patented a method to thermally stabilize oxaloacetate by creating Anhydrous Enol-Oxaloacetate (AEO). Currently, Terra Biological and Cash hold over 30 patents in oxaloacetate use, including a composition of matter patent.
The discovery allowed the creation of benaGene, the world’s first Oxaloacetate metabolite available in a shelf-stable, bioavailable supplement. Since its creation, Cash and Terra Biological, LLC. has made possible dozens of human and animal studies and Clinical Trials investigating the potential of oxaloacetate.
